Where the Artwalk Ends

02 12 2010

On Saturday February 13 at 9:00pm, Ben Newton and I will host and perform in a sketch comedy, music, and variety show at the Ballard Underground, 2220 NW Market St (at Ballard Ave). “Where the Artwalk Ends” also features performances by Val Brunetto, Chelan Finney, Phil Fox, Matthew Gilbert, Jalyn Green, Vittoria Micalizzi, and Jessica Stepka, as well as music by Johnny Unicorn and Horace Pickett.

The Ballard Artwalk happens the second Saturday of every month, right in the heart of Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, and showcases the work of local artists. The Ballard Underground will be featuring the work of Staci Graveley. Come to the beautiful, historic Ballard neighborhood for an evening of art, then stay for a later evening of mirth and revelry!

Woolly Mammoths

Hey, look! It’s some woolly mammoths!

This is another picture done up for a British Columbia tourism video. Apparently, there used to be some of those up in Canada during the Ice Age. Good times!

Cadborosaurus

02 07 2010

Here are two versions of the “Cadborosaurus” cryptid that supposedly swims through Cadboro Bay in Victoria, British Columbia. To my mind, one of these is bad-ass and one is lame. The lame one was chosen for the project (a tourism video) because supposedly it’s “more accurate” to the description of the beastie.

But I ask you: Is “Inglorious Basterds” nominated for an Oscar™ this year because it’s accurate or because it’s bad-ass?

Totally bad-ass version

“Sleeker, more eel-like” (i.e. lame) version that Ernesto Lopez correctly described as “orca bait”

And here’s a side view of the critter:
