The Oedipal Duplex

11 06 2009

So my friend Ben Newton and I wrote a play called Blinding Pains — a sit-com sequel to Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex. After blinding himself in horror upon learning he’d murdered his father and married his mother, Oedipus moves to Phoenix, opens a restaurant (a Greek-Mexican fusion joint called Oedipus Mex), and attempts to rebuild his life.

Of course, any self-respecting sit-com needs a theme song. Here’s ours:

The theme song to Blinding Pains with lyrics by me & Ben, music written & performed by Dan Yost, and vocals by Chris Marx.
