Battle of the Bards, Again

01 21 2009

Well, Ghost Light Theatricals “Battle of the Bards” was a rousing success — their most successful fundraiser to date, in fact. Big congratulations to everyone involved in all three play excerpts. There was a tremendous amount of talent on that stage.

The evening featured excerpts from Charles Mee’s “Summertime” and José Rivera’s “Sueño.” And of course, the previous-post-mentioned “Blinding Pains” by Ben Newton and me. It was a diverse evening of theatre, to say the least.

There were two performances of the excerpts on Friday the 16th and another performance on Saturday the 17th, which was followed by a party.

I slant a mighty beverage whilst Ben keeps an eye upon the vote tally boards.

We won. “Blinding Pains,” our sit-com spin-off adaptation of the greek tragedy Oedipus Rex, will open about this time next year at Seattle’s Ghost Light Theatre.
