More Bears

Spent my Saturday the way a Saturday is best spent– in a bear suit. New “Bear City” photos to follow soon!

More Works

It has recently been brought to my attention that every literary work of profound importance has a “preface.” Therefore, I’ve added a Preface to the Collected Works. I hope you’ll all take them more seriously from now on.

Sketch Show!

11 20 2004

I’ve got a sketch show coming up December 1st: “The MOHOs Are Coming to Town!” When else are you gonna get the chance to see Fred Willard onstage for only five bucks? Rarely, compadre, rarely. And I’ll have a couple of my pieces in the show, plus I’ll be in some too. That’s Wednesday, December 1, at the Whitefire Theatre, 8 pm. The Whitefire is at 13500 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, CA. Did I mention the show is only five bucks? Holy smoke, such a deal!

Nice and Crude

11 12 2004

I went to the Erotic Museum last night, where my friend Kime Buzelli had a fabulous opening! (Insert raunchy joke here) It’s a group show, but I honestly liked her exhibit the best. She has a way of meshing gentle color with bold strokes that manages to walk the line between delicate and forceful… actually no, it doesn’t walk the line, it’s got one foot firmly planted on each side. However there were many other pieces that caught my eye, general rampant sexuality notwithstanding. One exhibit especially– no particular work stood out on its own, it was really the entire exhibit viewed as a whole… each piece was ASCII art printed on green and white lined dot matrix paper. There were a couple of female nudes, a couple of hetero sex scenes, and a portrait of William Shatner. If you live in or near Los Angeles, and don’t mind naughtiness, check this exhibit out. It’s called “Nice and Crude.”
